DevnDespro SafeDelete adds a reference check to the normal WordPress Trash workflow. Before a page is moved to Trash, it looks for direct links from other posts and pages and displays the results in a review window. You can inspect the references, continue with the Trash action, or cancel.

No separate scanning workflow is needed for everyday page deletion.

What SafeDelete checks

SafeDelete Free checks for direct permalink matches in WordPress post and page content. It is a pre-deletion reference check, not a site-wide broken-link crawler.

A scan with no matches does not guarantee that a page has no dependencies. Links in menus, page-builder data, custom fields, external websites, or other storage locations may not be detected by the Free scan.

Note: Reference scans have limits and may not detect every dependency. Check the Pro product page for the supported reference types and current availability.

1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin.
2. Search for DevnDespro SafeDelete and install it, or choose Upload Plugin to install the ZIP file.
3. Activate DevnDespro SafeDelete.
4. Go to Pages > All Pages and choose Trash for a page, or select multiple pages and choose Move to Trash.
5. Review the reference results before confirming or canceling.

Does SafeDelete permanently delete pages?

No. SafeDelete runs before the normal WordPress Move to Trash action. It does not automatically permanently delete pages.

What happens when I click Trash?

SafeDelete checks for direct references to the selected page and displays a review window before the normal Trash action continues.

Can I cancel the action?

Yes. Canceling closes the review window without moving the selected page to Trash.

Can I check several pages at once?

Yes. SafeDelete supports checking selected pages before a bulk Move to Trash action.

Does SafeDelete change or remove existing links?

No. The reference review identifies matching links; it does not automatically edit links in other posts or pages.

What if no references are found?

You can still review the result and decide whether to proceed. No matches means the scan did not find direct permalink references in the content it checks, not that every possible dependency has been ruled out.

Does SafeDelete find every reference to a page?

No. The Free version checks direct permalink matches in WordPress post and page content. Other types of references may not be included.

Does SafeDelete work with Elementor, menus, or custom fields?
